Emma
Directed by:
Alexandre David Lejuez
Written by:
Alexandre David Lejuez
Starring:
Eva Langlet

The short film opens with carvings of women along with Red flashlights in the background. It has connotations of danger and restrictions. It also indicates that the protagonist can be involved with something harmful for her.

The film has a red light theme to it. It raises awareness of prostitution. The cinematic piece revolves around the young woman Angele (Emma) making a difficult choice to get involved with online prostitution due to some financial issues persisting in her life. The choice made by her would prove detrimental for her in the long term or not is the question the movie raises?

The location of the film is Paris. Paris becomes an apt place for unfolding the plot and, it also gives the desired depth in the narrative. The director (Alexandre David Lejuez) is brave to make a film on such a sensitive topic that needs to be discussed openly and not wrapped around the cushions of social problems.
