Helloween

Get ready for another dose of killer clown chaos this spooky season, as Phil Claydon's latest chiller, Helloween, makes its way to the UK. The film, which has been making waves, is set to arrive on digital platforms on September 29, 2025, with a physical Blu-ray release following on October 13, 2025.

From the producers at Shogun Films, this new offering looks to cash in on the ever-popular "killer clown" trope, a subgenre that never seems to go out of fashion. The story is a throwback to the unsettling clown sightings that plagued the UK in 2016, a time ripe for fear-mongering and media sensationalism.

The plot centres on Dr Ellen Marks (played by Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott), a psychiatrist at a high-security hospital. She finds herself in the unenviable position of caring for Carl Cane (Ronan Summers), a notorious and seriously disturbed child killer. When the "killer clown" chaos begins to boil over, Marks joins forces with American investigative journalist John Parker (Michael Paré) to get to the bottom of the sinister contagion.

The duo quickly uncovers a connection to Cane, who they suspect might be orchestrating the entire clown uprising from his cell. Things take a turn for the worse when the killer escapes, leading Marks on a desperate race against time to save her daughters from his maniacal revenge. The film promises a terrifying confrontation, with the promotional material hinting at something far more sinister and possibly supernatural at play.

Whether Helloween will be a clever exploration of our modern fears or just another slasher in a clown mask remains to be seen. But for horror fans looking for a bit of pre-Halloween fright, this might just be what you're looking for.
