That Alien, Sound
Listen out for That Alien, Sound, a fun-filled, fresh and funky coming of age sci-fi comedy that celebrates life, creativity and all that makes us unique. The film premiered at Melbourne Science Fiction Film Festival and has been garnering acclaim across the festival circuit. Now, it’s set to crash land in the UK as it makes its digital debut this August, courtesy of Miracle Media.
Mia Danelle (Mayans M.C.) gives a heartfelt and fearlessly funny performance as Micah – AKA Sound – in this exciting feature debut from writer-director Brando Topp. This joyful film also stars veteran actors Richard Masur (My Girl, The Thing, Risky Business) and Amy Hill (50 First Dates, The Cat in the Hat).
While working at a record store, Micah’s (Danelle) life is about to change forever when a cosmic sound wave inhabits her body via a radio broadcast. Filled with a child-like curiosity, the new Micah must adjust to the bizarre world around her.
While most of her friends and family adapt to their new alien ally, even affectionately naming her Sound, Micah’s boyfriend, Shannon (Will Tranfo), struggles to understand and accept her new identity, attempting to get rid of the extraterrestrial nuisance.
This genre-bending sci-fi pulls at the heartstrings with its sincere exploration of real-life issues surrounding identity, community and belonging, while adding a refreshing comedy twist. Weird, wacky, and wonderful, That Alien, Sound will charm you with its loveable lead and humorous story of affection, acceptance and aliens.
