Cinema has officially set its sights on a permanent flagship home on the Greenwich Peninsula. For those of us who have braved the elements and the mystery of "where on earth are we going tonight?", the prospect of a long-term base by the Thames is nothing short of a game-changer for the UK film scene.

It seems fitting that Brick Lane, the iconic creative corner of the capital, has been chosen as the staging ground for the upcoming Spring Edition of the Day Job Film Festival. As someone who spends a significant portion of my life immersed in the world of independent cinema, I find myself increasingly drawn to events that eschew the velvet ropes of the West End in favour of something more tangible, more raw, and more human.

However, Odeon Cinemas has once again stepped into the fray to ensure that the magic of the silver screen remains accessible to all. For this upcoming holiday period, the exhibitor has confirmed the return of its Odeon Kids screenings, offering tickets for the remarkably low price of just £1, including screenings of The Bad Guys 2 (screening 14-19 February 2026) and Gabby's Dollhouse (screening 21-22nd Feb).
