The crisp autumn air is descending upon the capital, which can only mean one thing for cinema lovers: the BFI London Film Festival is back for its 70th edition. Running from 7th to 18th October, this year's programme is nothing short of a gargantuan cinematic feast, boasting 251 titles spanning features, shorts, series, and immersive projects from 88 countries.

Opening in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 30 October 2026, this release marks a historic occasion fifty-five years in the making: for the very first time, audiences will be able to experience the definitive, uncensored version of the film exactly as Russell intended it to be seen.

The 69th BFI London Film Festival (8th-19th October) in partnership with American Express have announced that this year’s American Express Gala will be the UK premiere of Searchlight Pictures’ RENTAL FAMILY at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on Thursday 16 October with director HIKARI and star Brendan Fraser expected to attend.
