Chatham Town FC Documentary: The 2025/2026 Season

Time for some football. This independently filmed and produced feature is Christian Obray's first documentary and the title pretty much reveals what it is about.

For those who are unaware, Chatham Town Football Club is an English professional association football club based in Chatham, Kent. This documentary provides a detailed account of this club's journey through the 2025/26 season and it does so via voice-over, many photographs, a lot of footage and interviews.

Numerous Chatham Town Players are interviewed, some of which include Jordy Robins, Reece Butler and General Manager Gary Hake and Chatham Town FC Head of Academy & 1st Team Coach Tim Moffatt also contribute. They share their thoughts regarding the club, share their experiences and explain what it is like being part of Chatham Town FC. Interviewees are not limited to Players, Coaches and Managers as many fans are given the opportunity to share their thoughts, revealing why this is a well-established football club.

The selected photos show many players and there is a great deal of footage of players in action during matches and fans celebrating. Title cards of records reveal the club's progress throughout the film and some good music is added here and there. Special mention goes to the methodical editing that includes creative use of wipe techniques.

The lengthy documentary is structured in a way that begins by introducing the club, before moving to the beginning of the season, alternating between the matches and interviews, revealing the club's challenging times. Viewers learn the history of the club, how things are now and what people think of the club.

Obviously, this feature is about football, particularly the efforts of the players and the support from the fans. It is also about enthusiasm, having a passion, being part of something great and people being united in joy.

A well-executed and informative documentary that reveals the exciting world of football. Viewers will learn much about Chatham Town FC and become familiar with numerous of the individuals who are a part of it. It is worth noting that watching for two and a half hours is something that will most likely appeal to fans of this sport, particularly fans of Chatham Town FC.
