The trailer of this movie is good I watched it twice and I enjoyed it but I don’t read this because this spoils the whole movie. And I don’t watch with spoilers I want complete course work for me that’s how I enjoy the movie in my style in this way the suspense remains in movies.

The Stone in the shoe, to my mind, was the constant niggle that his actions in WW2 changed nothing. His actions regarding the Bigfoot saved humanity. Hence the stone finally being removed.

Most film critics and viewers have completely missed the central theme of this brilliantly conceived film. The film's fantastical title of Sam Elliott's main character's legendary heroic feats is just that - fantastical because it's pure fiction, meaning that Calvin has only conjured up these heroic acts to compensate for his lonely, empty existence borne out of his chickening out on his planned marriage proposal to his true love before shipping out to fight in WWII. The title heroic acts are meant to be fantastical because they never really happened. I believe that the box contains his true love's ashes since his brother says in the film that she died young.

The box isn't about what's inside of it. It is symbolic in a sense of connecting you to the movie. What is your keepsake after a regretful life. Would you keep the ashes of someone one you love in a box full of treasures from your life. The proof of a life worth living. Finally dad's 357 with the wrong answer to any problem. I saw this film some time ago, and enjoyed it very much ... enjoying isn't quite the right word for this excellent portayal of the hopeless poverty of Zain's environment. This is a film with an optimistic ending, especially given the boy's strength of character.
